Can Diabetics Get a Diabetic Neuropathy Foot Scrub?
For people with diabetes, it is important that they take good care of their feet. This is because it is one part of their body which their condition can affect the most. As such, they should not easily give in to the market for pedicures and foot massages. One simply cannot stress how important a diabetic’s foot should be taken care of. However, there are now some diabetic neuropathy foot scrub which are safe to be used by people suffering from the condition.
Sadly though, even if there are several of these foot scrubs available, it is still important that patients take good care in the prevention of any further damage to their foot. They must avoid certain things so that they will not encounter serious problems on their foot.
If a diabetic neuropathy foot scrub will be used, make sure that proper care is still observed. This includes the following:
- Washing feet with lukewarm water and a mild soap
- Avoid rubbing the skin of the foot
- Apply a cream or lotion on the heels so that the foot is properly moisturized
- Avoid ingrown toenails by cutting toenails straight diagonally at the top
Diabetics should be very particular with their feet. This is because it can lead to more serious damages. Any problems felt on the feet should immediately be checked by the physician in order to avoid any injuries. If a blister is spotted, avoid breaking it. Antibiotic cream should be placed on the area several times every day. If the wound has still not healed after a few days, the doctor should be notified right away.
There are a lot of serious foot problems that diabetics should watch out for. However, with proper care, these problems can easily be dismissed without even needing a diabetic neuropathy foot scrub.
